AMOR(a)MUERTE

AMOR(a)MUERTE: A Raw Look at Modern Youth in Málaga
Experience a powerful reflection on modern life at the Teatro Echegaray. As a highlight of the 43rd Theater Festival, the duo Las Lunas presents their thought-provoking production, AMOR(a)MUERTE. On Thursday, January 22, 2026, audiences can witness this visceral 45-minute journey. The play tackles the daily struggles of a generation facing an increasingly hostile world.
Finding Strength in an Uncertain Future
The story follows two young women as they navigate a landscape of uncertainty and anxiety. They grapple with harsh realities like precarious labor and the lack of affordable housing. Furthermore, these characters struggle to imagine starting a family of their own in such an environment. The production uses “garbage bags” as a recurring, suffocating motif to symbolize modern life. Consequently, the characters realize that only friendship provides the strength they need to confront their futures.
The Rising Talent of Las Lunas
Las Lunas is a dynamic company that formed in 2023. Founders Ana Luna Moya and Luna Navajas both bring extensive training to the stage. Luna Navajas graduated from the Remiendo Theater and Dubbing School, while Ana Luna Moya graduated from the ESAD. Recently, the Junta de Andalucía selected them for the prestigious Ágora residency. In this production, they both direct and perform to bring an authentic voice to the festival.
In short, do not miss this intense and poetic performance. It gives a vital voice to the hidden anxieties of today’s youth.
