Benahavís Town Hall
The Benahavís Town Hall (Ayuntamiento de Benahavís) serves as the democratic governing body of one of the most scenic municipalities in Andalucía, located just 7 km inland from the Costa del Sol. Nestled between Marbella, Estepona, and Ronda, Benahavís is known as a traditional Andalusian “white village” with rich history, cultural heritage, and outstanding natural surroundings.
Founded in the late 11th century during Arab rule and granted municipal independence in 1572, Benahavís has preserved its historic charm while embracing modern growth. Landmarks such as the Montemayor Castle and ancient watchtowers reflect its past, while nearly 75% of the municipality remains protected from urban development, ensuring a balance between tradition, sustainability, and quality of life.
The City Council is composed of 13 elected members, led by Mayor José Antonio Mena Castilla. Together, the council oversees essential municipal services, infrastructure, cultural development, and citizen well-being. Through initiatives such as the “Línea Verde” digital platform, residents can easily engage with the municipality, submit queries, and receive prompt responses.
Committed to the environment, public safety, and community well-being, the Benahavís City Council works to provide efficient services such as water management, civic registration, cultural programming, and sports promotion. The council also partners with regional authorities to support victims, ensure safety, and foster social integration.
Our mission is to protect Benahavís’ unique identity, safeguard its natural spaces, and promote a thriving, inclusive community for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
