Playwright María Beltrán draws free inspiration from Moratín’s original work to explore individual and social conscience. The plot examines the reality of “sugar babies,” the influence of social media, and the silence imposed on victims. Furthermore, it reflects a society that offers power in exchange for morality while ignoring inherited lack of empathy. Consequently, the play exposes the educational and social decay of a world seemingly destined for failure.
