TRES NOCHES EN ÍTACA

Tres noches en Ítaca: A Poetic Reunion at Teatro Cervantes
Experience a profound theatrical journey this season at the Teatro Cervantes in Málaga. As a standout feature of the 43rd Theater Festival, Octubre Producciones presents Tres noches en Ítaca, a moving tragicomedy written by the acclaimed Alberto Conejero. On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, audiences are invited to witness a “special menu” of deep emotions and human connection in this evocative production.
A Feast for the Soul: Grief, Light, and Humanities
The story unfolds in a lonely house facing the sea on the island of Ithaca. Three sisters—Ariadna, Penélope, and Elena—reunite following the death of their mother, Alicia. Alicia was an eccentric professor of Classical Greek who abandoned her life in Spain to settle in this remote location. Consequently, over three nights of mourning, the sisters confront shared secrets, deep wounds, and their own personal ghosts.
Rather than a simple tragedy, Tres noches en Ítaca is described as an “elegy from the light”. It explores the right to be reborn and serves as a powerful love song to the Humanities and the mentors who invite us to imagine.
Stellar Talent and Production
Directed by María Goiricelaya, the play features a powerhouse cast including Marta Nieto, Cecilia Freire, and Cecilia Solaguren. Since its founding in Madrid in 2017, Octubre Producciones has become a hallmark of rigor and professionalism in the Spanish cultural landscape. In short, this 90-minute performance offers a unique opportunity to see top-tier talent explore the complexities of the human spirit.
