Senior Data Lead Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Lead Engineer to join our hub in Málaga. Your mission will be to lead the design, evolution, and operation of cloud-based Data, AI & BI platforms, enabling scalable, secure, and high-quality data products that drive real business value.

III. YOUR MISSION: DATA ARCHITECTURE & LEADERSHIP

In this role, you aren’t just building pipelines; you are defining the data roadmap for a global leader.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Roadmap: Lead the Data, AI & BI roadmap, ensuring scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Lakehouse Architecture: Design, evolve, and operate cloud data lakehouse architectures (preferably on AWS).

• Data Mesh Integration: Define domain-oriented data products aligned with data mesh principles (data-as-a-product, SLAs, ownership).
• Pipeline Engineering: Build and maintain data ingestion, ETL, and transformation pipelines, including CDC-based and event-driven architectures.
• AI/ML Enablement: Enable AI/ML and LLM use cases (feature engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, monitoring).
• Mentorship: Act as a technical leader for data, ML, and BI engineers, promoting engineering best practices.

IV. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

We are seeking a technical powerhouse with a proactive, outcome-oriented mindset.

Must-Haves:

• Experience: 5+ years in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, or AI Engineering.
• Cloud Expertise: Proven track record building cloud data platforms (specifically AWS services: S3, Glue, EMR).
• Databricks Savvy: Hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark/PySpark), Delta tables, and MLflow.
• Coding Skills: Strong SQL and Python skills for data processing and automation.
• Architecture Knowledge: Understanding of lakehouse concepts (Parquet, Iceberg/Delta) and CDC patterns.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Nice-to-Haves:

• AWS or Databricks certifications.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficiency with BI tools like Power BI, QuickSight, or Qlik.
• Experience with CI/CD for data and ML pipelines.
