Five Alhambra tours we would book from Marbella. A budget coach, a coach with tickets, a guided visit once you are in Granada, and two private days with pickup on the coast. Each one is labelled by where it starts.

Granada is a long day from Marbella and the hard part is the Alhambra ticket. Tickets are limited and the Nasrid Palaces can only be seen at the time printed on your ticket, so a tour that includes tickets takes that worry away. Coaches are the cheapest and private tours pick you up on the coast.
Best on Viator: private day from Marbella or Málaga, from €528 per person.
Hotel pickup in Marbella and nearby towns, your own art historian guide and tickets for the Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba and Generalife. Private for up to 8 people. It is our pick for most couples and families.

Granada sits about 2 hours from Marbella by car, below the Sierra Nevada. Its Alhambra is a Moorish palace and fortress, with the Nasrid Palaces, the Alcazaba and the Generalife gardens.
The big choice is how you get there and how you get in. A coach is cheap, but check whether the Alhambra ticket is included. A private guide costs more, starts at your door and handles the tickets. Or drive yourself and join a guided visit in Granada. Every price and rating below shows the date we checked it.

A coach with tickets costs more but the hard part is done. The one in this guide starts in Málaga, so you get there yourself.
Private tours collect you on the coast, book your tickets and go at your pace. Prices are per person. For a family, compare one private price with a coach ticket plus an Alhambra tour for each person.

If you drive or stay the night, you only need a guide and tickets. Tours meet at the Alhambra on Paseo del Generalife. Arrive early, because tickets collected at the office must be picked up at least one hour before your Nasrid time.
For a private visit, the private Alhambra, Nasrid and Generalife tour lasts 3 hours with an art historian guide and skip the line tickets. It is from €290 per person and rated 4.9 out of 5 from 327 reviews. It meets at the Access Pavilion. Checked on GetYourGuide on 29 October 2026. Affiliate link.

The budget coach in this guide lists 2 hours of free time in Granada, so it is a good place to spend it. Itinerary from the GetYourGuide listing, 29 October 2026.

Coast meeting point tours list their starting points when you book. Check that one is near you and allow time to reach it.
Meet in Málaga tours start in the city. The coach with tickets meets at Hotel Vincci Posada del Patio, and the listing says it cannot pick up in Marbella. Avanza runs buses from Marbella to Málaga. Check times on avanzabus.com.
Meet in Granada tours start at the Alhambra. Driving from Marbella takes about 2 hours. Leave plenty of time before your Nasrid slot.
Children under 12 go in free but need their own ticket. Buggies cannot go into the Nasrid Palaces, the Generalife Palace or the Alcazaba, so they are left in a storeroom. Bags bigger than 40 by 40 cm are not allowed. For up to 8 people, the private tour from the coast sets the pace around breaks.
